Core and Enhanced Retainer Options
Our combined Geldards Education Legal, Employment Law and HR Retainer is available through two service levels: Core and Enhanced.
Both options provide direct access to experienced legal and HR specialists and are designed to give organisations confidence that expert education sector support is available when needed. The key difference is the level of ongoing access and support included within each package.
Enhanced Service
Enhanced Service clients are allocated a dedicated senior adviser who becomes familiar with the organisation, its structure, key personnel and strategic objectives. This individual will coordinate support across legal, employment and HR matters and act as your primary point of contact.
The Enhanced Service is intended for institutions seeking regular access to specialist advice and proactive support across a broad range of routine legal and workforce issues.
Support can be accessed by telephone, video conference or email and covers day-to-day matters that can generally be resolved within about an hour. This may include reviewing policies, providing guidance on governance questions, discussing staffing concerns, advising on a safeguarding matter, commenting on contractual arrangements or assisting with a developing issue before it escalates
Many clients view the Enhanced Service as an extension of their leadership or central services team, drawing on us for strategic discussion, second opinions and practical problem-solving as well as technical legal advice.
Where a matter develops into a substantial project or dispute requiring significant additional work, we will clearly identify this and agree a separate scope of work in advance. Enhanced clients benefit from preferential charging rates for work outside the retainer and receive transparent cost information at the outset wherever possible.
Enhanced Service clients also benefit from discounted rates for training, workshops and briefing sessions covering a number of areas, including education law, governance, safeguarding, HR, employment law and regulatory developments.
To ensure that the service continues to meet your needs, we arrange a periodic review of the relationship and usage levels, allowing both parties to assess current requirements and future priorities.
Core Service
The Core Service is designed for educational organisations that require specialist support on a less frequent basis but still value access to advisers with extensive education sector expertise.
Clients receive a named senior adviser who understands their organisation and is available to provide guidance on straightforward legal, employment law and HR matters as they arise.
The package is particularly suited to institutions looking for occasional support and reassurance on individual queries, helping leaders obtain prompt advice before making important decisions.
The Core Service includes access to advice on routine matters that can generally be addressed through short discussions and practical guidance.
Where the level or complexity of support required grows beyond what would reasonably be expected under the Core arrangement, we will discuss the most appropriate way of supporting your organisation going forward, ensuring that you continue to receive an appropriate and cost-effective service.
